Ashinoa – Un’altra Forma

Ashinoa expands their krautrock palette on “Un’altra Forma,” the title track from their third album dropping November 28th via Fuzz Club Records. The trio — Matteo Fabbri, Stefan Chamolt, and Mathias Chirpaz — moves beyond the motorik beats of 2022’s “L’Orée” into dreamier territory.

Built from an improvisation between Fabbri on the Lyra-8 synthesizer and Venetian flautist Andrea Vecchiato, the track grew with contributions from Romain Vasset on clarinet and sax, plus Alberto Collodel on bass clarinet. The result balances their head-down electronics with moments of open, downtempo bliss.

Venice inspired the song’s creation. Fabbri explains how visiting the city made him realise urban environments can be radically different from expectations. The contrast between Venice’s gentle nights and its history of building stone on water shaped the track’s delicate atmosphere.

Ashinoa recorded between Lyon, Venice, and Beaujeu, expanding their sound with clarinet, saxophone, flute, and piano. They’re threading psychedelic jazz and Brazilian music influences through their established electronic framework. The album title translates to “another form” — fitting for a band discovering new ways to distort familiar sounds.
